Celestial Camp: Minimarg photo 1

Celestial Camp is a 6 night, 7 day adventure through Astore, Rama Meadows, Minimarg, Deosai and Skardu. The journey starts with a night in Chilas before moving deeper into Astore Valley for two nights at Rama Meadows. From there, Musafirs explore Minimarg, travel across Deosai, spend a night in Skardu and return through Chilas. This trip is built for Musafirs who want more than just scenic stops from a bus window. Expect long mountain roads, remote valleys, open skies, cold evenings, community dinners and landscapes that feel increasingly far from normal life. There is enough adventure to make the journey memorable, but also enough time to sit outside, slow down and actually enjoy where you are. The further you go, the quieter everything gets.

Itinerary

Day 1The Road NorthChilas

Meet your fellow Musafirs and trip captains at the confirmed Lahore or Islamabad meeting point and begin the journey north. The first day is mostly about leaving the city behind. Conversations start, playlists get tested and the mountains slowly begin appearing outside the windows. Travel towards Chilas with meal and comfort stops during the journey. Arrive in Chilas, check into the hotel and get some proper rest. Tomorrow is when the real adventure begins.

Day 2Into Astore, Camp One at RamaCamping at Rama

Wake up, have breakfast and continue towards Astore Valley. The landscape begins changing quickly as the journey leaves the main highway and moves deeper into the mountains. Travel towards Rama and arrive at the camping area. Settle into camp and take time to explore the surroundings, walk through the valley or simply sit outside and take in the view. As evening arrives, temperatures fall and the first proper camping night begins. Dinner is served at camp. Then the lights disappear. No city glow. No hotel lobby. Just mountains, tents, cold air and the first Celestial Camp night under the stars.

Day 3Minimarg, The Road Less TravelledRama Meadows

Begin the morning with breakfast before preparing for the Minimarg adventure. Travel deeper into the Astore region towards Minimarg, subject to the required local access and safe road conditions. The journey itself is a major part of the day. Expect remote mountain roads, quiet valleys and landscapes that feel increasingly untouched as the group moves further away from the usual tourist route. Spend time exploring Minimarg, taking photographs and enjoying the surroundings before beginning the return journey towards Rama Meadows. Arrive back at Rama by evening. Dinner is served before the group settles in for another cold mountain night together. Two nights in the same place also means something rare on a northern trip. You do not have to pack your bag again tonight.

Day 4Across DeosaiDeosai

Wake up at Rama Meadows and enjoy breakfast before checking out. Today the journey moves towards one of the most open landscapes of the trip, Deosai. Travel through the mountain route as forests and valleys gradually give way to huge plains and distant peaks. Spend the day exploring Deosai with scenic stops along the route. The landscape is wide, quiet and completely different from the valleys of Astore. Arrive at the overnight stay and settle in before the temperature drops. Enjoy dinner surrounded by one of the most remote environments of the journey. When night arrives, the sky becomes part of the experience.

Day 5From the Plains to SkarduSkardu

Wake up in Deosai and have breakfast before beginning the journey towards Skardu. Enjoy the final views of the plains as the group makes its way out of Deosai and towards civilisation again. Arrive in Skardu and check into the hotel. After several days in remote mountain areas, the day slows down. Freshen up, rest, explore nearby areas if time allows or simply enjoy being back somewhere with proper facilities and a comfortable room. Gather again for dinner and an easy evening with the group. By this stage of the trip, nobody really needs an organised icebreaker anymore.

Day 6Skardu to ChilasChilas

Wake up for breakfast and enjoy the final morning in Skardu. Check out and begin the journey towards Chilas. The day is mostly spent on the road, moving through the mountain landscape and gradually retracing the journey home. Take meal and comfort stops according to the route and road conditions. Arrive in Chilas by evening, check into the hotel and gather for the final included dinner of the trip. It is the last night together before everyone starts heading back to normal life. Use it properly.

Day 7Back to RealityNo overnight stay

Wake up in Chilas and enjoy breakfast before checking out. Begin the final journey towards Islamabad and Lahore. Take meal and comfort stops during the drive according to traffic and road conditions. Musafirs joining from Islamabad will conclude their trip at the confirmed drop off point. The Lahore group will continue towards the final arrival point. Seven days earlier, the group left for Minimarg as different friends, couples and solo Musafirs. By the time the bus reaches home, the mountain roads, Rama evenings, Deosai skies and hundreds of small moments in between belong to everyone.

Confirmed Dates

The trip will operate from 16 to 22 September 2026. These dates are confirmed. The trip will only be postponed if a natural disaster, serious political disruption, government restriction, road emergency or another exceptional safety situation makes travel unsafe.

Meals

Breakfast and dinner are included throughout the trip. Lunches, snacks, tea and personal food orders are not included unless specifically communicated for a departure.

Accommodation

The trip includes six nights. Night 1 is in Chilas. Night 2 is at Rama Meadows. Night 3 is at Rama Meadows. Night 4 is in Deosai. Night 5 is in Skardu. Night 6 is in Chilas.

Camping

Three nights of the trip are spent camping in remote mountain locations. Facilities will be basic compared with hotels. Musafirs should expect cold temperatures, limited electricity, simple washroom arrangements and limited mobile connectivity.

Minimarg Access

Minimarg is a restricted and remote area. The planned visit remains subject to the required local permission, security clearance, road access and operating conditions. If access is restricted, the trip team may use the most suitable alternative location within the Astore region.

Departure Cities

The operational package includes separate pricing from Islamabad and Lahore. Musafirs must report at the confirmed meeting point and time communicated before departure.

Weather

September weather in Astore, Deosai and Minimarg can become very cold, particularly after sunset. Warm layers, waterproof protection and suitable footwear are essential.

Physical Effort

This is not a difficult trekking expedition, but it is an adventure trip. Musafirs should be comfortable with long road journeys, jeep travel, basic camping and walking on uneven natural terrain.

Connectivity

Internet and mobile signals may be weak or completely unavailable in Deosai, Minimarg and some parts of Astore. Families should be informed before the group enters remote areas.

Packing Essentials

Musafirs should carry comfortable shoes with grip, warm layers, thermal clothing, a waterproof jacket, gloves, warm socks, personal medication, a small backpack, water bottle, power bank, torch, sunblock and personal toiletries.

Route Changes

Mountain roads, Deosai access and Minimarg permissions can change because of weather, security instructions or local conditions. The team may change the order of destinations or use an alternative safe camping location when necessary.

Safety and community

This trip includes long mountain drives, remote areas, high altitude, jeep travel and changing weather conditions. Musafirs must follow instructions from trip captains, drivers and local guides. Warm clothing, shoes with good grip, rain protection and personal medication are essential. Routes may be adjusted if weather, road conditions or local access make an area unsafe. Travel insurance, medical treatment, rescue and emergency evacuation are not included.

Celestial Camp is a community adventure built around shared travel, respect and cooperation. Many Musafirs join without knowing anyone. The road journeys, remote stays and evenings together naturally bring the group closer, while personal space and boundaries are always respected. Musafirs are expected to follow group timings, respect local communities and look out for each other throughout the journey. Harassment, unsafe behaviour, substance misuse or conduct that puts another Musafir at risk will not be tolerated.

FAQs

Can I join a 3Musafir trip alone?

Yes. Many Musafirs join without knowing anyone, so you will not be the only one arriving solo. Our onboarding, group communication and trip captains make introductions feel natural—because waiting for someone else should not keep you from living your own experiences.

Is travelling with 3Musafir safe for women?

Women-first safety is built into how 3Musafir operates. Depending on the trip, this includes traveller verification, onboarding checks, vetted partners, conduct guidelines and trip-captain support—so you can focus more on the experience and less on navigating everything alone.

What is included in the trip price?

Every trip page clearly lists what is included and excluded before you pay. Review it early, as popular departures, preferred rooms and lower-priced options may fill before the trip officially sells out.

How do I book, and when is my seat confirmed?

Submit the registration form, complete the required onboarding and make the specified payment. Registration alone does not reserve your place—your seat is confirmed only after payment, so delaying may mean losing your preferred departure or room option.

What happens if I cancel or the itinerary changes?

Cancellation and refund terms depend on the trip, timing and supplier commitments. If weather, flights or road conditions require changes, we work to protect the safety and core experience—because flexibility should adjust the journey, not take away the reason you joined.

Are we actually camping in Minimarg?

Yes. Camping in Minimarg is part of the planned itinerary, subject to permission, safe road access and local operating conditions.

Do I need camping experience?

No. First time campers can join. Musafirs should simply be comfortable with basic facilities, cold nights and spending several days in remote locations.

Will there be mobile signals?

Connectivity will be limited and may disappear completely in some areas. Musafirs should prepare to spend significant parts of the trip offline.

How cold will it be?

Nights at Rama, Deosai and Minimarg can become very cold in September. Warm layers and thermal clothing are strongly recommended.

Is wildlife guaranteed in Deosai?

No. Wildlife may be seen, but sightings depend entirely on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

What should I pack?

Carry warm clothing, thermals, comfortable shoes, waterproof protection, gloves, extra socks, personal medication, a small backpack, water bottle, power bank, torch and personal toiletries.

Can the trip dates change?

The confirmed dates will only be postponed if a natural disaster, serious political situation, government restriction or another major safety issue prevents the trip from operating.

How is my seat confirmed?

A seat is confirmed after registration, successful onboarding and completion of the required payment process.
