Itinerary

Day 1The Journey BeginsOvernight road journey

Lahore Musafirs meet at the confirmed Lahore pickup point and Islamabad Musafirs meet at their respective Islamabad pickup point according to the timings shared before departure. Karachi Musafirs join the trip through either Lahore or Islamabad depending on their selected joining plan. Once everyone is on the road, the real Musafir experience starts. The first night is spent travelling north, so there is no hotel stay tonight. The bus ride is not treated like dead travel time. Captains begin introductions and icebreakers once everyone has settled in. Then comes Bus Yaind, one of those very Musafir parts of the journey where playlists, random conversations, games, jokes and late night bus energy slowly turn different groups into one crew. There will be comfort and meal stops along the way. By the time people finally try to sleep, most Musafirs will already know considerably more names than they did at pickup.

Day 2Chilas, Rest and the First Musafir NightChilas

After the overnight journey, stop in Balakot early in the morning for breakfast. Take time to freshen up, eat and stretch before continuing towards Chilas. The road gradually gets more dramatic as the group moves deeper into the mountains. Reach Chilas by afternoon. Check into the hotel and begin room allotments. Once everyone has their rooms, the next few hours are completely about recovering from the road. Shower. Sleep. Sit with chai. Or simply disappear into your room for a while. Everyone gathers again in the evening for dinner. After dinner, the first proper night together begins with jamming. Nothing too complicated tonight. Music, conversations and the kind of relaxed evening that lets everyone recover while the group chemistry keeps building.

Day 3Chilas to Skardu and the Most Insane Game NightDynasty Skardu

Wake up early and have breakfast at the hotel. Check out and begin the journey towards Skardu. The road from Chilas towards Skardu is a major part of the experience itself, with dramatic mountains, rivers and landscapes that keep changing as the group moves further into Gilgit Baltistan. Reach Skardu and head towards Dynasty Skardu. Room allotments begin on arrival. Take time to settle in, freshen up and rest after another mountain road day. Dinner is served at the hotel in the evening. Then the calm ends. The 3Musafir team takes over the night for a full blown Game Night. Expect team challenges, ridiculous competitions, quick thinking games, surprise rounds and the sort of controlled chaos where people become extremely competitive over things that absolutely do not matter. The point is simple. By the end of the night, nobody should still be sitting only with the people they came with.

Day 4Kachura, Souq Valley and a Very Desi NightDynasty Skardu

Wake up to the morning call and gather for breakfast. After breakfast, the Musafir crew leaves for the Kachura Lakes and Souq Valley experience. Spend time around the Kachura landscape, enjoying the lakes, mountain views and autumn colours. There is enough time to take photographs, walk around and actually enjoy the place instead of turning it into a five minute stop. Continue towards Souq Valley for a quieter side of the day. The valley gives the group space to slow down, explore and enjoy the landscape away from the busier Skardu stops. Return to Dynasty later in the day. Take some proper rest before dinner. Then the evening switches mood completely. The first half of the evening is Mehndi Night. Expect colour, music, mehndi, traditional touches, photographs and proper desi Musafir energy. Once that energy settles down, the night slowly moves into Bazm. Acoustic music. Poetry. Stories. Singing. Maybe something someone wrote. Maybe a song someone has been waiting three days to perform. Bazm is less about performing well and more about sharing the room. Musafirs can perform, listen or simply sit around and take it all in.

Day 5Sarfaranga and Sunset JammingDynasty Skardu

Wake up to the morning call and gather for breakfast. Today the Musafir crew heads towards Sarfaranga Cold Desert. The landscape changes completely. Sand, open desert and huge mountains take over. Spend the day exploring the desert and enjoying the locally available adventure activities. Musafirs who want more adrenaline can try activities such as motorbike rides, jeep rides, ATV rides and other locally operated experiences. Those who want a slower day can walk around, take photographs, sit on the dunes and just enjoy being somewhere that feels almost unreal. As sunset approaches, everyone gathers again. This is one of the signature moments of the experience. Music starts as the light changes over the cold desert. No hotel room. No formal setup. Just the Musafir crew, instruments, sand, mountains and sunset. After jamming, return to Dynasty Skardu. Dinner is served at the hotel. Then comes Themed Night. The exact theme is revealed or communicated before the departure, giving everyone another reason to show up looking completely different from how they looked at breakfast.

Day 6Deosai or Bashu, The Wild Card DayDynasty Skardu

Wake up early, have breakfast and prepare for the most weather dependent day of the experience. The crew will head towards either Deosai or Bashu Valley. The final decision is made according to weather, road conditions and safe access. If We Go to Deosai The day becomes a full Deosai road adventure. Travel into the huge open plains, stop at scenic points and spend time surrounded by one of the most dramatic high altitude landscapes in Pakistan. Deosai is done as a day trip. After exploring, the group returns towards the overnight base. If We Go to Bashu The mood changes completely. Travel towards Bashu Valley and move into forests, streams and a much more camp style environment. If Bashu is selected, the Musafir crew camps there overnight. Spend the evening in the valley, slow down and enjoy the quieter side of the trip. Dinner is served according to the final operating setup. There is no planned Game Night, Mehndi or major event tonight. This night is deliberately for chilling. Chai. Conversations. Music if the mood is there. Maybe sitting around doing absolutely nothing. After several packed days, that is the activity.

Day 7Bye Bye SkarduChilas

Wake up, have breakfast and prepare to leave the Skardu region. If the group camped in Bashu, return from Bashu in the morning and reconnect with the main road journey. If Deosai was selected the previous day, the crew departs directly according to the final operating schedule. Then it is officially time to say goodbye to Skardu. Begin the journey towards Chilas. By now the bus feels completely different from Day 1. There are established seats. Inside jokes. People borrowing each other's chargers. And someone who has somehow become responsible for the playlist. Reach Chilas later in the day. Room allotments begin on arrival. Freshen up, rest and gather again for dinner. Last Night With the Musafir Family There is no complicated programme tonight. This is simply the last evening together. Sit around. Talk. Play music. Go through photographs. Laugh about the trip. Or quietly realise that everyone has to return to real life tomorrow.

Day 8The Long Way HomeNo overnight hotel stay

Wake up early and have breakfast. Check out and begin the final journey south. Travel towards Islamabad with comfort and meal stops along the route. Islamabad Musafirs are expected to reach Islamabad around midnight, depending on traffic and road conditions. Lahore Musafirs continue onwards after Islamabad. Arrival in Lahore is expected the following morning. Karachi Musafirs follow the return arrangement through whichever joining city they selected for the departure. By this point everyone is tired, phones are full, voices are probably gone and the group chat is very much alive. Skardu in Fall ends here. Bus Yaind does not.

Additional info

Confirmed Dates

The official trip dates are 8 to 14 October 2026. Lahore and Islamabad Musafirs will depart on the evening of 7 October so the main experience can begin from 8 October. Dates may only be changed if a natural disaster, serious political situation, government restriction or another major safety issue affects the trip.

Meal Plan

Breakfast and dinner are included during the trip. Lunch is not included on any day. Snacks, tea, beverages and additional food orders are also paid separately unless specifically communicated otherwise.

First Night

There is no hotel accommodation on the first night. Musafirs spend the night travelling north. This is also when Bus Yaind, introductions and the first icebreakers begin.

Chilas Accommodation

The first hotel night is in Chilas after reaching from the overnight road journey. The final hotel night is also in Chilas before the return journey south.

Dynasty Skardu

Dynasty Skardu is the main Musafir base during the Skardu portion of the experience. Game Night, Mehndi Night, Bazm Night and Themed Night are planned around the Dynasty stay.

Karachi Joining Plan

Karachi Musafirs do not have a separate road departure. They join the experience through Lahore or Islamabad, depending on their selected travel arrangement. Karachi Musafirs are responsible for following the flight and joining instructions shared for their package.

Lahore Departure

Lahore Musafirs leave from the confirmed Lahore pickup point according to the communicated reporting and departure time.

Islamabad Departure

Islamabad Musafirs leave from the confirmed Islamabad pickup point according to the communicated reporting and departure time.

Deosai or Bashu Decision

Day 6 is deliberately flexible. The group will visit either Deosai or Bashu according to weather, road conditions and safe access. If Deosai is selected, it will operate as a day trip. If Bashu is selected, the Musafir crew will camp there overnight and return the following morning.

Community Nights

The experience includes several distinct community nights. Game Night is built around competition and chaos. Mehndi Night brings the desi energy. Bazm Night slows everything down into music, poetry and expression. Themed Night gives the Musafir crew one final excuse to show up differently. The last night in Chilas is left intentionally simple so everyone can just spend time together.

Safety and community

This experience includes long road journeys, mountain roads, jeep travel, high altitude areas. October can become cold quickly in Skardu, especially around Deosai, Basho and after sunset. Musafirs should carry warm layers, comfortable shoes with grip and personal medication. Deosai, Basho and other remote routes depend on safe road and weather conditions. The trip captains may adjust timings or routing when required for the safety of the Musafir crew.

This is a Musafir community experience, not just a sightseeing tour. Many Musafirs join solo or without knowing most of the group. Road journeys, shared day trips, chai stops and evenings together are designed to make meeting people feel natural. Solo women are welcomed through the 3Musafir verification and onboarding process.
