Bali OktoberFest is a 9-day, 8-night community escape through Ubud, Gili Trawangan and Seminyak—timed to end with Halloween weekend on Bali’s most social coastline. The journey begins with river rapids, rice terraces, jungle adventures, hot springs and traditional Balinese villages. It then moves to Gili Trawangan for snorkeling, bicycles, turquoise water and sunsets without traffic or schedules. The final chapter belongs to Seminyak: cafés, beaches, shopping, spas, coastal evenings and Halloween night with the Musafir crew. This exact version of Bali only happens once a year. You arrive for the island, but the people beside you during the rafting, boat rides, sunsets and Halloween countdown usually become the part you wish you could take home.

Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Seminyak — The Island Takes OverSeminyak

Land at Ngurah Rai International Airport and meet the local operations team for your transfer to Seminyak. The trip starts the moment you walk out of the airport. Halloween weekend has already begun around Bali. Seminyak and Legian are getting busier, costumes are appearing in shop windows, cafés are full and everyone is talking about what is happening tomorrow night. Check into The ONE Legian, drop your bags and finally meet the people who have existed mostly as profile pictures and names inside the group chat. There is deliberately no exhausting arrival-day sightseeing schedule. Take time to shower, recover from the flight and walk around the surrounding streets. Grab food nearby, explore Legian, find the remaining pieces of your Halloween costume or just sit with the group and realise that you are actually in Bali. Later, regroup for the Musafir Welcome Circle. Captains introduce the trip, everyone properly meets each other and we set the mood for the next nine nights. Tomorrow is Halloween. Tonight is when the strangers disappear. Day moments - Airport arrival and Bali welcome - Private transfer to Seminyak - Hotel check-in - Free time around Seminyak - Last-minute Halloween shopping - Musafir introductions - Welcome circle - First night together in Bali

Day 2Halloween in Bali — No Soft LaunchChamplung Sari Hotel

Your first full day in Bali happens to be Halloween. There are worse ways to begin a trip. Wake up without an aggressive morning itinerary and have breakfast at the hotel. The first half of the day is yours. Walk towards the beach, explore Seminyak's cafés, hunt for costume accessories, book a massage, shop around Legian or spend the afternoon with the people you met less than 24 hours ago. But by late afternoon, the hotel starts changing. Costumes come out. Music starts playing in rooms. Someone needs face paint. Someone has forgotten an accessory. Someone's costume suddenly becomes a group project. As sunset approaches, everyone gets together for the Bali OktoberFest Halloween Reveal and group photography. This is one of the nights the entire trip has been built around. After photographs, head out together for the Halloween community night. The exact venue will be confirmed closer to departure based on Bali's official Halloween schedules, group suitability, entry requirements and what's actually worth going to. You can choose how far you take the night. Some Musafirs will stay for the atmosphere. Some will disappear into Bali nightlife. Others will be discussing the entire evening over food at 2 AM. Nobody will be discussing an early wake-up call. Day moments - Slow Halloween morning - Seminyak exploration - Beach and café time - Costume preparation - Group getting-ready chaos - Halloween reveal - Official group photographs - Musafir Halloween gathering - Optional Bali nightlife This isn't the farewell party. This is Day Two.

Day 3The Recovery Day — Beach, Cafés & Absolutely No AlarmChamplung Sari Hotel

Nobody schedules rafting the morning after Halloween. Breakfast is available. Whether you see it is between you and your alarm clock. Today is the breathing space between Bali's biggest night and the island chapter that begins tomorrow. Spend the morning slowly. Find a proper brunch, walk through Seminyak, sit by the beach, book a spa treatment, go shopping or simply stay around the hotel talking about everything that happened the night before. If you still have energy, explore the coastal side of Bali. Beach clubs, surfing, cafés, sunset spots and shopping are all available independently depending on how you want to spend the day. There is no compulsory group activity forcing everyone into the same mood. By sunset, regroup with whoever is around. Find somewhere near the coast, watch your final Seminyak sunset and have an easy evening together. The difference from Day One will already be obvious. The same people who were awkwardly introducing themselves 48 hours ago are now sharing food, photos and stories from the night before. Pack lightly tonight. Tomorrow, Bali changes completely. Day moments - Sleep-in morning - Free breakfast - Brunch and café hopping - Optional spa - Shopping - Beach time - Optional surfing or beach clubs - Sunset gathering - Easy final night in Seminyak

Day 4Ubud to Gili T — Leave the Traffic BehindScallywags Resort, Gili Trawangan

Check out after breakfast and leave Seminyak behind. Travel towards the harbour and board the fast boat for Gili Trawangan. This transfer doesn't just change the hotel. It changes the entire trip. The buildings get smaller. The water gets clearer. Cars disappear. And after several days of Bali traffic, you arrive somewhere where bicycles and horse carts are still the main way around. Welcome to Gili T. Check into Scallywags Resort and put the schedule away for a while. The afternoon is open for your first proper island exploration. Rent bicycles and start riding. Stop whenever the beach looks too good to ignore. Find a café. Jump into the water. Lose track of the rest of the group and somehow meet them again twenty minutes later. As sunset approaches, everyone regroups on the western side of the island. This is the first real Gili sunset of the trip. Shoes usually disappear. Phones usually come out. Someone will inevitably take a photograph that becomes their profile picture for the next six months. After sunset, explore Gili's evening atmosphere together. Dinner, beach cafés and the island's social scene are all within reach. No cars. No commute. No rush. Day moments - Breakfast and Seminyak checkout - Harbour transfer - Fast boat to Gili Trawangan - Island arrival - Resort check-in - Bicycle exploration - Beach time - Gili sunset - Group photographs - Optional island night out

Day 5Snorkeling, Turtles & Island TimeScallywags Resort, Gili Trawangan

Wake up on an island where there are still no cars outside. After breakfast, head out together for the shared Gili snorkeling experience. This is one of the signature adventure days of the trip. Board the snorkeling boat and head into the clear waters around the Gili Islands. Depending on sea conditions and nature, swim above coral formations, tropical marine life and some of the area's well-known turtle habitats. There is never a guarantee of seeing wildlife. But when someone spots a turtle underwater, you will hear about it for the rest of the trip.Between snorkeling stops, the islands look completely different from the water. Turquoise sea. Mountains in the distance. Boats moving between the Gilis. And twenty people suddenly remembering why they booked Bali in the first place. Return to Gili T with the rest of the afternoon free. This is your last full island day. Cycle around the island. Find another beach. Grab lunch somewhere small. Take a nap. Go swimming again. Explore the night market. Or sit at sunset long enough to forget what day of the week it is. Tonight is the final Gili night. Use it. Tomorrow the trip heads inland. Day moments - Breakfast by the island - Shared snorkeling tour - Coral and marine-life exploration - Possible turtle sightings - Open-water group experience - Free afternoon - Cycling around Gili - Night market - Final island sunset - Last Gili evening

Day 6Gili to Ubud — Into the JungleUbud

Enjoy one last Gili breakfast before checking out. Board the fast boat back towards mainland Bali and continue by private transport towards Ubud. Watch the surroundings change through the windows. Beach towns begin disappearing. The roads get greener. Temples start appearing between houses. Rice fields replace coastal streets. You have entered a completely different Bali. Check into Champlung Sari Hotel, surrounded by the atmosphere that makes Ubud feel immediately different from Seminyak. The evening is deliberately light after the transfer. Walk around central Ubud. Explore cafés. Browse local shops. Find dinner. Visit the surrounding streets. Or just sit somewhere with the people you've now spent almost a week travelling with. There is still plenty coming. Rafting. Rice terraces. ATVs. Hot springs. Traditional Bali. For tonight, just arrive. Day moments - Final Gili breakfast - Fast boat back to Bali - Scenic transfer into Ubud - Hotel check-in - Free evening - Ubud café exploration - Local shopping - Group dinner plans - Slow night before the adventure days

Day 7Ayung Rapids, Tegallalang & Bali Going Fully GreenUbud

Today is when Ubud properly starts. After breakfast, travel towards the Ayung River for the group rafting experience. Gear up, meet the rafting team and divide into boats. No previous rafting experience is required. And once the paddles hit the water, nobody really cares who knew whom before the trip. The river moves through dense tropical scenery, rock walls and jungle surroundings. There will be shouting. There will be splashing. There will almost certainly be at least one boat trying to overtake another for absolutely no reason. By the end, everyone is soaked and nobody is behaving like strangers anymore. Change, regroup and continue towards one of Bali's most recognisable landscapes: Tegallalang Rice Terraces. Walk through the valley, stop at viewpoints and take time to actually experience the terraces instead of treating them like another photo stop. Optional swings are available independently for anyone who wants the classic Bali shot. From there, continue to a local coffee plantation. Taste Balinese coffee, cacao and herbal teas while learning more about local produce. Then return to Ubud. The evening is yours. You will probably spend half of it exchanging rafting photographs anyway. Day moments - Breakfast - Ayung River rafting - Group boat challenge - Jungle river scenery - Tegallalang Rice Terraces - Valley exploration - Optional Bali swings - Coffee plantation - Coffee, cacao and herbal-tea tasting - Return to Ubud - Free evening This is one of those days where your camera roll starts becoming a problem.

Day 8Mud First. Hot Springs Later.Ubud

If yesterday got you wet, today gets you dirty. After breakfast, head out for the confirmed adventure activity: an ATV ride or jungle-cart experience, depending on final vendor arrangements for the departure. Helmet on. Engine started. Clean clothes temporarily irrelevant. Ride through Bali's adventure terrain with the group. Expect mud, uneven tracks, ridiculous photographs and several people becoming far more competitive than the activity requires. This is one of the highest-energy experiences of the Ubud chapter. Then the day completely changes direction. Leave the mud behind and head towards the Batur Natural Hot Springs. Against the volcanic landscape around Mount Batur, slow down in the warm mineral pools. After several days of boats, bicycles, snorkeling, rafting and ATVs, this is usually the moment everyone's body remembers it is on holiday. Sit in the pools. Take in the surrounding mountains. Talk. Do absolutely nothing for a while. Eventually return to Ubud for another open evening. Adventure in the morning. Volcanic hot springs in the afternoon. Only Bali makes that combination feel normal. Day moments - Breakfast - ATV or jungle-cart experience - Mud trails - Group adventure - Transfer towards Mount Batur - Batur Natural Hot Springs - Mountain and volcanic scenery - Slow afternoon recovery - Return to Ubud - Free evening

Day 9The Return — Leaving the Island, Keeping the PeopleReturn flight

Wake up for the final morning in Ubud. Have breakfast, pack everything that somehow no longer fits inside the suitcase and complete hotel checkout. Depending on the confirmed flight schedule, there may be a little time for coffee, breakfast or one final walk before departure. Then board the private transfer directly from Ubud to Ngurah Rai International Airport. The drive back feels very different from the drive everyone took on Day One. Nine days ago, the group had barely met. Now there are: Halloween photographs from Seminyak. Sunset pictures from Gili. Underwater videos. Rafting stories. ATV mud stains. Inside jokes nobody at home will understand. Hundreds of photographs nobody has organised. And plans to meet again that everyone insists they are serious about. Eventually, the airport appears. Bags come out. Boarding passes come out. The goodbyes take longer than expected. Some people will travel together again. Some will become genuine friends. Some will live in different cities and still randomly send each other Bali reels six months later. That is the strange thing about Musafir travel. You book the destination first. Only afterwards do you realise the people were half the trip. Day moments - Final Ubud breakfast - Hotel checkout - Last-minute coffee or walk depending on flight time - Private airport transfer - Group goodbyes - Return flight

FAQs

Can I join a 3Musafir trip alone?

Yes. Many Musafirs join without knowing anyone, so you will not be the only one arriving solo. Our onboarding, group communication and trip captains make introductions feel natural—because waiting for someone else should not keep you from living your own experiences.

Is travelling with 3Musafir safe for women?

Women-first safety is built into how 3Musafir operates. Depending on the trip, this includes traveller verification, onboarding checks, vetted partners, conduct guidelines and trip-captain support—so you can focus more on the experience and less on navigating everything alone.

What is included in the trip price?

Every trip page clearly lists what is included and excluded before you pay. Review it early, as popular departures, preferred rooms and lower-priced options may fill before the trip officially sells out.

How do I book, and when is my seat confirmed?

Submit the registration form, complete the required onboarding and make the specified payment. Registration alone does not reserve your place—your seat is confirmed only after payment, so delaying may mean losing your preferred departure or room option.

What happens if I cancel or the itinerary changes?

Cancellation and refund terms depend on the trip, timing and supplier commitments. If weather, flights or road conditions require changes, we work to protect the safety and core experience—because flexibility should adjust the journey, not take away the reason you joined.

Is this an Oktoberfest beer festival?

No. Bali OktoberFest is 3Musafir’s annual October Bali community journey. It combines Ubud, Gili Trawangan and Seminyak, ending with Halloween night.

Which destinations are included?

The route includes three nights in Ubud, two nights in Gili Trawangan and three nights in Seminyak.

Is a costume compulsory?

No. Dressing up is encouraged because it adds to the shared experience, but participation remains optional.

Are airport transfers included?

Yes, if explicitly mentioned.
